San Francisco

When I was 16, I wrote down in my diary that by the age of 30 I’m gonna live In San Francisco and be married to Matt Pryor. Um yes, my teen dreams might have been a bit ridiculous… I am now 30 and luckily married a boy who won’t leave me for “tours” or write songs about how I broke his heart, but San Francisco definitely remained my long lasting dream. It’s kind of strange and unexplainable, to love a city you have never been to so much that you fantasise about getting there throughout your teens and as an adult, so it only felt right to finally make this dream come true.
We cleared three weeks off our schedules, sent the cat to a pet hotel, packed our suitcases, and hopped on the 11 hours flight from London to San Francisco. we got a whole 3 seats to ourselves and I got to lay down with my feet up for the entire duration of the flight. lucky motherfuckers.
The first part of our trip was all about exploring the city and it’s mouth watering food scene, then some minor tourists attractions that were a must-see, and some good shopping obviously because AMERICA.
For the next part of our trip we rented a car and headed out of the city toward the Northern California mountains area where we did some awesome hiking and wandered around in the nature like a couple of hippies, a well needed break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
I wish I could elaborate but describing a dream that lasted 3 weeks is a bit problematic you see, i’d usually just tuck fuckload of photos here, tell you that my words ain’t worthy of describing the adventure, tell you to just look at the photos and put the pieces to this beautiful puzzle together yourself… it’s just that this time, I can’t even do that.
I’m starting to think that no words nor photos will ever be able to do justice to the way I felt during this time, and besides, I’ve got 7 rolls of film to develop/scan/edit which might take me a lifetime some time, so in the meanwhile I’ve edited some video footage taken with my Canon 5DMKII into a short film that maybe, just maybe, will provide a small insight to my San Francisco & North California experience (better watch the video on my Vimeo in HD)

Make sure to check out my FLICKR in the next few weeks to see all my film photography from the trip!

That video was so beautiful! I really admire your ability to see the world the way you do <3. David and I took a trip out to SF about 4 years ago for my grandparents 60th anniversary. This makes me want to go back! We didn't really get a chance to see the sights, but did wander through those gorgeous woods! :) Lovely lovely lovely! xo -C

Thanks love! North Cali is drop dead gorgeous indeed, so much that we’re considering moving there when the boy finish his research in a year and a half! ^_^
