We spent the majority of January in Israel, visiting family & friends, but mostly escaping the deadly weather in England in favour of some sun & sea – and boy did we get a lot of it! we stayed in two major cities, Tel Aviv and Haifa, and one village, Zichron Y’aakov, during our 3 weeks trip – that means shitload of traveling and constantly moving from place to place, what an adventure!
Now, I travel to Israel on a regular basis, it is and forever will be home for me, which is why I never actually write that sort of travel posts about it…. but this one’s an exception for the very reason that on this trip I’ve decide to do something completely insane in my book, which was the decision to NOT take a film camera with me. well, this is me stepping OUT of my comfort zone (yes, a film camera glued to my face is my comfort zone) and for the first time in over a decade I’ve decide that my only photography companion while traveling abroad will be DIGITAL. #cringe
Luckily, what made this whole ordeal less frightening was knowing that my beloved and trustworthy Sony will be by my side to frame everything perfectly just like she did back in September, when we traveled down south.
A week into the trip after I finally stopped complaining and feeling a certain void for not capturing this sunset or that hummus on film, I actually started enjoying the process of being 100% depended on my little digital companion.
She was a treat , really, and I can’t praise her enough…. so sit your ass down and look through my 3 digitally documented weeks back home :)
