One of the most important things to me, as a person and as an artist, is change.
I’m a firm believer in the fact that change is essential for one’s survival in this crazy universe, you have to always aspire to evolve, progress and better yourself in each and every aspect of life – if you stay put, if you stay stuck in the same place or state of mind, if you don’t move forward constantly, how do I put it nicely…. you’re FUCKED.
I’m a changer, I’ve always been one. The core of my personality have always stayed the same, but everything else is constantly changing, whether it’s my appearance by changing hair colours/style or decorating my skin with another tattoo, my location which changes quite often thanks to my passion for traveling and exploring, my taste in music thanks to the vast amount of artists I listen to, the format of cameras I shoot on or generally my photography style – the list is endless but the one thing that’s common is CHANGE.
There is a good reason why I’m lecturing you about the importance of change – I am now 5 month pregnant with a boy, which is undoubtedly the biggest/ happiest/ scariest life changing event I’ve ever gone through, and the start of a beautiful journey!
Photography wise – this is my favourite season! the transformation from summer to autumn and the crazy changes in colours all around makes me the happiest, I wanted to convey this big change I’m going through in a photo session which had to come perfectly together; I’ve waited for the 5 month bump mark because frankly, I’m the perfect size now so the pregnancy won’t physically get in the way of me being the photographer as well, I intended to shoot on the first few days of october when it’s still warm enough outside, the light is golden, and there are still enough green left on the trees so they don’t look all bare and miserable. I also knew that while I’m about to have a “winter pregnancy” this will probably be my one and only chance for an outdoor session that could show my growing figure, if I’d waited another month I wouldn’t be able to shoot because i’d probably have to cover myself with at least 5 layers, thanks England!
I’m really happy with the results, everything was just perfect for me on the day of the shoot and of course, I’ve had a loving assistance from my amazing husband/father to be, carrying around all the heavy equipment, helping me set up, feeding me chocolate and kissing me kisses ♡
